Universitat Pompeu Fabra (Spain)

Universitat Pompeu Fabra (UPF) was established in 1990 as a public university with a strong dedication to excellence in research and teaching. It is ranked as the 1st Spanish university in the World University Rankings of the Times Higher Education (THE 2018), the 11th highest ranked among those under 50 years (THE 2018), and 5th among young universities in the world that progress most quickly through the rankings (THE2015, Young Universities Summit). UPF is also ranked 5th in Europe (Multirank 2018) and 1st in Spain in teaching and research performance (U-Ranking, BBVA Foundation & Ivie, 2018). According to the Science Citation Index and Thomson Scientific, the UPF is the university with the highest scientific Productivity in Spain in terms of publications. UPF is very experienced in research. Under the FP7 Research Programme, UPF was awarded 141 projects (>75M€). It is the 1st university in Spain in ERC grants and among the first 20 in Europe in grants funded by the European Research Council. Currently, UPF has been receiving funding from the H2020 framework, with more than 40 new grants.
