Dr. Cornelia Sylla is a researcher in the Department of Social Work of the University of Applied Sciences in Hamburg, Germany. She graduated from the University of Hamburg with a degree in Educational Sciences. After working in different educational organisations – adventure camps, preschool, environmental education – she returned to the academic field with a scholarship from the University of Hamburg to study the relationship between social work and the school system and mechanisms of inclusion and exclusion. Her main research interests are marginalisation and intersectionality, especially concerning young people, as well as interdisciplinary co-operation and networking in the field of education. For CHIEF she is engaged in all work packages, but is mainly coordinating WP4.
